I would be very pleased to have you post some of my articles on your blog. I appreciate your thinking well of my work and wanting to repost it. It would be helpful to me if you would mention me as author of “Tennis: Winning the Mental Match.”
Regards,
Allen

It sounds like you did just the right thing under the circumstances. (Especially by immediately moving on emotionally yourself.)
Nobody really knows for sure what to say in these situations. Much depends on the mental makeup of the people involved, and that’s tough to figure even if you are there in person.
Best wishes and thanks for your kind comments on my work.
Allen

I had a match a few months ago where my doubles opponent repeatedly called the ball out BEFORE it hit and in each case looked in to my partner and I. It was his partners call in each case. I finally couldn’t help myself and challenged him, causing everyone to be on edge. But as men, we finally talked it out – but he lost his edge and played badly from that point on. I moved on, putting my emotions aside and played well and we won. In hindsight, I still wonder whether I should have calmly asked “are you sure” after the 2nd occurence. You opinion?

Even if my opponent gives me the point that I’m not sure of I won during play. Tennis is and always should be a gentlemans sport. Earn your point the right way or go play another sport. You just don’t want to be labeled a cheater, for you will NEVER lose that title.
I always took Arthur Ashe, my role model and Hero as my example and after more than 45 years of tennis still love the game every time I step on the court.
